Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart sister honored for her work

Sister Eileen White, a Grey Nun of the Sacred Heart, was honored recently for her nine years of service to trafficked and sexually exploited women at Dawn’s Place, at an undisclosed location in Philadelphia.

The Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart are based at 14500 Bustleton Ave.

Sister Eileen serves as coordinator of resident programs and volunteers.

The nonprofit Dawn’s Place is the only residential program in Philadelphia specifically serving survivors of commercial sexual exploitation. Services provided by Dawn’s Place include housing, trauma recovery and vocational training.

Sister Eileen’s work helps both American and foreign-born trafficking survivors receive the therapeutic and educational services and life skills training necessary for recovery from the trauma of sexual exploitation. ••
